In addition to spotting koalas, you’re also free to hand feed wallabies and rainbow lorikeets on Magnetic Island. Magnetic Island has the largest Northern Australian population of koalas living in the wild.  It is also home to one of the largest wallaby populations in the country and they’re more than happy to nibble on fruit and vegetables. There is also a daily rainbow lorikeet feeding session daily at 4:15 pm at the Bungalow Bay Koala Village. This is completely open to the public, meaning that anyone can get involved, even if you aren’t staying at the resort.

Visit the Different Bays

Renowned for its excellent scenery, Magnetic Island is actually home to 23 beautiful bays. The main residential bays are Horseshoe Bay, Nelly Bay, Alma Bay, and Picnic Bay. Each of these is easily accessible by foot or four-wheel drive and are well worth a visit. Radical Bay and Florence Bay are quieter alternatives that make for an excellent family picnic spot.
