The annual SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week offers an experience to remember. That’s when everyone comes together to enjoy elite boat racing, live bands and parties, as well as other community events.
You don’t have to be a competitive sailor to participate in this fantastic event. There is an activity for everyone. Whether it’s participating in the racing, or socialising with the crews at one of the many social functions, or partaking in the community events, you will find something that interests you.

Here’s everything that’s happening over the week

Day 1 – Thursday 1 September

Racers can register, be briefed and enjoy Yachties Hours at Peppers Race HQ Deck. There will be entertainment on the deck.

Day 2 – Friday 2 September, first day of sailing

There will be a free community breakfast and Power 100 Outside broadcast at Nelly Bay Terminal. Later, Lunch for Liptember is a ticketed event at Peppers Boardwalk Restaurant. Yachties Hour and entertainment are in the evening at Peppers Race HQ Deck.

Day 3 – Saturday 3 September, second day of sailing

It will be a relaxed evening with Yachties Hour and entertainment at Peppers Race HQ Deck.

Day 4/Lay Day – Sunday 4 September

There will be a nice break at the Townsville Airport Father’s Day at Picnic Bay. Take a gander at the markets, free kids activities and food stalls. The Townsville Family Life Sandcastle Great Inflatable Race at the Arcadian Surf Club is sure to be fun. Make sure you check out the Fundraising BBQ and Mud Crab Races too.

Day 4, 5 and 6 – Monday 5 September to Wednesday 7 September, third day to final day of sailing

Enjoy more sailing, two parties and plenty of entertainment. The week concludes with a presentation and a ticketed buffet dinner (tickets available from the welcome desk).
