Magnetic Island Online - How to Spend 24 Hours on Magnetic Island

Begin your day by catching a ferry from Townsville at 6:30 am, enjoy a relaxing ride across the water to Magnetic Island and you will arrive promptly at 6:50 am. Once you arrive on the island, you can hire a fun and unique car through Tropical Topless Car Rentals to explore as much of the island as possible in your day. Magnetic Island is the home to Northern Australia’s largest colony of Koalas living in the wild, and Forts Walk is the best place to see them in their natural habitat. Koalas are typically out early in the morning, so it is ideal to visit Forts Walk when you arrive on the island.

Once you have filled your morning, it’s time to find a spot for lunch. Magnetic Island has an array of cafes to choose from, with some of the most popular cafes for lunch being The REEF Bar Café, Scallywags Café and Sandi’s on Magnetic Island.

After you have enjoyed your lunch, visiting some of the gorgeous beaches that the island has to offer should be your next activity. Picnic Bay is the perfect spot to take a leisurely swim, enjoy some fishing and to snap some beautiful photos on the iconic jetty. There are many shops to wander through at Picnic Bay, catering to all desires and budgets. Snorkelling is a popular activity on Magnetic Island, as it is an exciting way to view the different species of fish, and to even explore some historic ship wrecks. Nelly Bay and Geoffrey Bay are two of the best locations to snorkel on the island.

As the day comes to an end, watching the sunset is a must, as Magnetic Island produces some amazing sunsets. Now that it is time for dinner, you will have no trouble finding a place to eat. Choose a restaurant for dinner with a view of the water and enjoy your meal watching the sun set.
